FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NUTMEG SPICE: A FLAVORFUL COLLECTION OF
WORKS
BY WOMEN ARTISTS FROM THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT
Fairfield County’s Annual Women’s
History Month Art Exhibition
Open to the Public at the Rich Forum
March 12 – April 30, 2007
Stamford, CT, February 26, 2007 – Women artists
who reside in the state of Connecticut, representing a spicy mix
of different generations and cultures, are part of Fairfield County’s
2007 Annual Women’s Exhibition celebrated in conjunction with
National Women’s History Month. “Nutmeg Spice: A Flavorful
Collection of Works by Women Artists from the State of Connecticut”
was curated by Picture That, LLC, a cultural fine art advisory practice
headquartered in Stamford, CT and sponsored by General Electric
Company.
The exhibition features tasteful art that has intensely personal
interpretations of the traditional genres of painting, quilting,
woven tapestry, sculpture, print, landscape, abstraction, realism
and political history. Together, the strength of the artwork transcends
historical gender stereotypes of women as artists and showcases
how they have achieved beyond the expected and ordinary and made
lasting contributions to the field of art.
“Nutmeg Spice” will officially open on March 12 and
run through April 30 at the Stamford Center for the Arts’
Rich Forum Rosenthal Gallery, located at 307 Atlantic Street, downtown
Stamford. The gallery is open to the public Monday through Saturday
from 10 AM to 6 PM, and Sunday, from Noon to 5 PM.
A community opening reception will be held on Thursday, March 15
from 6 PM until 8 PM in the Rosenthal Gallery. This county-wide
event is free, open to the public and will feature an Artist Talk,
refreshments and music.
